Nice striker Mario Balotelli saw red for the third time this season during Saturday's match at lowly Lorient after the Italian had words for match official Tony Chapron.

Balotelli has now been sent off in both Lorient fixtures in his first campaign with the Cote d'Azur darling, and considering he wasn't on a card and a yellow is typically reserved for protestation, the forward may see retrospective punishment from the league for the use of abusive language.

Despite Balotelli's 68th-minute dismissal, Lucien Favre's side earned a vital 1-0 win courtesy of Wylan Cyprien's first-half near-post strike to vault idle Paris Saint-Germain for second on 56 points, three adrift of table-topper Monaco.
