Watch: Nationals 'heckle' Werth after homer vs. Phillies

Bill Streicher / USA TODAY Sports

Ever since he left the Philadelphia Phillies for the Washington Nationals in 2011, Jayson Werth has heard it from the crowd on every trip to Citizens Bank Park. But he never expected the heckling to come from his own side.

After the 2008 World Series champion smacked a home run against the Phillies on Monday - which, naturally, was lustily booed by the Philly faithful - Werth's teammates mocked his former fans by booing and "heckling" their teammate on his return to the dugout. One unknown voice even told Werth to "wash (his) hair."

This isn't the first time this year visiting players have had some fun at the expense of the notoriously hostile Philadelphia fans. Several months ago Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto faked tossing a foul ball into the stands after fans in the City of Brotherly Love had been heckling him.
