Here is an updated look at the top 200 fantasy baseball rankings (position eligibility provided by Yahoo!):

Tier 1

Rank PLAYER TEAM POSITION TREND
Mike Trout LAA OF1
Paul Goldschmidt ARI 1B1
Mookie Betts BOS OF2
Jose Altuve HOU 2B1
Nolan Arenado COL 3B1
Kris Bryant CHC 1B2/3B2/OF3
Anthony Rizzo CHC 1B3
Clayton Kershaw LAD SP1
Josh Donaldson TOR 3B3
Manny Machado BAL SS1/3B4
Max Scherzer WAS SP2
Corey Seager LAD SS2
Starling Marte PIT OF4
Carlos Correa HOU SS3
Bryce Harper WAS OF5
Trea Turner WAS 2B2/OF6
Miguel Cabrera DET 1B4
Madison Bumgarner SF SP3
Charlie Blackmon COL OF7
Xander Bogaerts BOS SS4

It's mostly status quo in the top 20. Of these, Turner has the opportunity to gain position eligibility at SS, which will enhance his overall value. He's pegged to be the Nationals' opening day shortstop with Daniel Murphy at 2B and Adam Eaton in CF.

Tier 2

Rank Name Team Position TREND
Chris Sale BOS SP4
Noah Syndergaard NYM SP5
Corey Kluber CLE SP6
Freddie Freeman ATL 1B5
Robinson Cano SEA 2B3
George Springer HOU OF8
Joey Votto CIN 1B6
Edwin Encarnacion CLE 1B7
Giancarlo Stanton MIA OF9
Jake Arrieta CHC SP7
Kyle Seager SEA 3B5
Brian Dozier MIN 2B4
Carlos Gonzalez COL OF10
Christian Yelich MIA OF11
Jacob deGrom NYM SP8
Ryan Braun MIL OF12
Daniel Murphy WAS 1B8/2B5
Jonathan Villar MIL 2B6/SS5/3B6
Stephen Strasburg WAS SP9
Francisco Lindor CLE SS6

Encarnacion is older than Freeman and less steady than Votto. Progressive Field is less forgiving than Rogers Centre, though that didn't stop Mike Napoli, Carlos Santana, and Rajai Davis (of all people) from having big power surges for Cleveland in 2016. Encarnacion has excellent upside, but Freeman has a better team around him, making him the easy choice for 1B5.

Tier 3

Rank Name Team Position TREND
Jon Lester CHC SP10
Wil Myers SD 1B9/OF13
Yoenis Cespedes NYM OF14
Nelson Cruz SEA OF15
Adrian Beltre TEX 3B7
J.D. Martinez DET OF16
David Price BOS SP11
Johnny Cueto SF SP12
Jose Abreu CWS 1B10
Dee Gordon MIA 2B7
Andrew McCutchen PIT OF17
Chris Davis BAL 1B11
Chris Archer TB SP13
Gregory Polanco PIT OF18
Justin Verlander DET SP14
Yu Darvish TEX SP15
Hanley Ramirez BOS 1B12
Trevor Story COL SS7
Jason Kipnis CLE 2B8
A.J. Pollock ARI OF19

Darvish basically switches places with Cleveland's Carlos Carrasco (who drops down a section). Darvish should be fully recovered from injury, while Carrasco finished his season on the DL. Carrasco has been throwing and his injury wasn't as serious as Darvish, so you can't really go wrong, but Darvish at his best is virtually unhittable.

Tier 4

Rank Name Team Position TREND
Justin Upton DET OF20
Billy Hamilton CIN OF21
Jose Bautista TOR OF22
Carlos Carrasco CLE SP16
Rougned Odor TEX 2B9
Buster Posey SF C1/1B13
Evan Longoria TB 3B8
Todd Frazier CWS 1B14/3B9
DJ LeMahieu COL 2B10
Eric Hosmer KC 1B15
Troy Tulowitzki TOR SS8
Zack Greinke ARI SP17
Masahiro Tanaka NYY SP18
Carlos Martinez STL SP19
Ian Desmond COL OF23
Matt Carpenter STL 1B16/2B11/3B10
Kyle Hendricks CHC SP20
Ian Kinsler DET 2B12
Adam Jones BAL OF24
Albert Pujols LAA 1B17

Be careful with Upton; he's easy to both underrate and overrate. He started horrendously last season before rebounding to match his career high in home runs (31). Hamilton is the best single-category asset in fantasy baseball and his batting average was a respectable .293 after last year's All-Star break.

Tier 5

Rank Name Team Position TREND
Aroldis Chapman NYY RP1
Kenley Jansen LAD RP2
Zach Britton BAL RP3
Adam Eaton WAS OF25
Kenta Maeda LAD SP21
Dustin Pedroia BOS 2B13
Cole Hamels TEX SP22
Craig Kimbrel BOS RP4
Mark Melancon SF RP5
Jose Ramirez CLE 3B11/OF26
Jonathan Lucroy TEX C2/1B18
Wade Davis CHC RP6
Roberto Osuna TOR RP7
Jose Quintana CWS SP23
Gary Sanchez NYY C3
Matt Kemp ATL OF27
Danny Salazar CLE SP24
Kyle Schwarber CHC C4/OF28
Khris Davis OAK OF29
Julio Teheran ATL SP25

We overrate closers, and that's exactly what happened in previous iterations. Even the best of the best are volatile and, due to lack of innings, are not going to help in counting stats beyond saves. Quintana dropped earlier due to the pending fire sale in Chicago, and it hasn't exactly happened. Wins are unpredictable, and he'll still provide excellent returns everywhere else. A trade would boost him even more.

Tier 6

Rank Name Team Position TREND
Carlos Santana CLE 1B19
Mark Trumbo BAL OF30
Alex Bregman HOU 3B12/SS9
Jean Segura SEA 2B14/SS10
Aaron Sanchez TOR SP26
Jackie Bradley Jr. BOS OF31
Stephen Piscotty STL OF32
Marcell Ozuna MIA OF33
Jeurys Familia NYM RP8
Rick Porcello BOS SP27
Felix Hernandez SEA SP28
Danny Duffy KC SP29
Edwin Diaz SEA RP9
Adrian Gonzalez LAD 1B20
Michael Brantley CLE OF34
Ken Giles HOU RP10
Anthony Rendon WAS 3B13
Lorenzo Cain KC OF35
Seung Hwan Oh STL RP11
Gerrit Cole PIT SP30

Duffy's surge in value could implode, but he was successful as both a reliever and a starter. He showed some fatigue in the second half, but he maintained a solid K/9. Proceed with some caution, and consider him a possible sell-high candidate if he starts hot. Bradley's massive hit streak helped boost his overall value. He's solid, but not worth reaching for.

Tier 7

RANK NAME TEAM POSITION TREND
Michael Fulmer DET SP31
Kevin Gausman BAL SP32
Marcus Stroman TOR SP33
Andrew Miller CLE RP12

Andrew Benintendi BOS OF36
Brandon Belt SF 1B21
Addison Russell CHC SS11
Aledmys Diaz STL 2B15/SS12
Dellin Betances NYY RP13
Anthony DeSclafani CIN SP35
David Robertson CWS RP14
Jon Gray COL SP36
David Dahl COL OF37
Rich Hill LAD SP37
Brad Miller TB 1B22/SS13
Miguel Sano MIN 3B14/OF38
Hunter Pence SF OF39
Justin Turner LAD 1B23/3B15
Elvis Andrus TEX SS14

A healthy Harvey pitching to his potential is a top-20 SP - but he has provided diminishing returns with each season and proved to be a total bust, exacerbated by injury in 2016. Dahl will yo-yo around rankings because of the small sample size of his playing time, but he has a combination of power and speed. A .404 BABIP spells some trouble for his batting average.

Tier 8

Ranking Name Team Position Trend
Maikel Franco PHI 3B16
Jake Lamb ARI 3B17
Logan Forsythe LAD 2B16
Odubel Herrera PHI OF40
Eduardo Nunez SF SS15/3B18
Brandon Crawford SF SS16
Willson Contreras CHC C5/OF41
Evan Gattis HOU C6
Kendrys Morales TOR 1B24/OF42
Joc Pederson LAD OF43
J.T. Realmuto MIA C7
Salvador Perez KC C8
Kole Calhoun LAA OF43
Matt Moore SF SP38
Victor Martinez DET 1B25
Jake Odorizzi TB SP39
Dansby Swanson ATL SS17
Drew Pomeranz BOS SP40
Tanner Roark WAS SP41
Dexter Fowler STL OF44

Forsythe immediately gains value as a run producer in the Dodgers' lineup. But don't be surprised if others overvalue him on draft day. Herrera is a fine player who ticks off a lot of boxes, but he's not indispensable. He is basically a complementary piece and little else. Still, he doesn't do anything so poorly it will hurt your roto team.

Tier 9

Rank Name Team Position Trend
Yasmani Grandal LAD C9
Steven Matz NYM SP42
Dallas Keuchel HOU SP43
Ryon Healy OAK 3B19
Nomar Mazara TEX OF45
Adam Duvall CIN OF46
John Lackey CHC SP44
Jonathan Schoop BAL 2B17
Hisashi Iwakuma SEA SP45
Tony Watson PIT RP15
Curtis Granderson NYM OF50
Marco Estrada TOR SP46
Jeff Samardzija SF SP47
Aaron Nola PHI SP48
Drew Smyly TB SP49
Alex Colome TB RP16
Kole Calhoun LAA OF47
Ben Zobrist CHC 2B18/OF48
Brian McCann HOU C10
Neil Walker NYM 2B19

Matz is the Mets' starter to target if you missed out on the top two and are worried about Harvey's injuries. Nola's 3.08 FIP in 2016 outlines part of what could have been. He had a 9.81 K/9, rarely allowed home runs, and was blooped to death to the tune of a .334 BABIP. He's a big breakout candidate. Walker is a great late-round source of stability at a weak position.

Tier 10

Rank Name Team Position Trend
Ender Inciarte ATL OF49
Hunter Renfroe SD OF50
Starlin Castro NYY 2B20
J.A. Happ TOR SP50
Asdrubal Cabrera NYM SS18
Carlos Gomez TEX OF51
Michael Pineda NYY SP51
Russell Martin TOR C11
Jameson Taillon PIT SP52
Greg Bird NYY 1B26
Carlos Rodon CWS SP53
Melky Cabrera CWS OF52
Robbie Ray ARI SP54
Sonny Gray OAK SP55
Randal Grichuk STL OF53
Cody Allen CLE RP17
Adam Wainwright STL SP56
Javier Baez CHC 2B21/SS19/3B20
Tommy Joseph PHI 1B27
Blake Snell TB SP57

Gray and Wainwright could bounce back, but you should exercise caution due to their injuries and Wainwright's declining skills. Baez can't be trusted without a starting role, but the second someone gets injured, he'll explode. ... Snell has big strikeout upside, and could be the best pitcher other than Chris Archer in Tampa's rotation. It might not be long before he even usurps him.
