Royals' Colon: Puerto Ricans have 'flair,' Kinsler doesn't

Ian Kinsler may want to think twice about the way he words his analysis of how different countries approach baseball, after he said Wednesday that he hopes kids appreciate how U.S. baseball players play the game.

Kansas City Royals infielder, and Puerto Rico native, Christian Colon didn't quite appreciate the sentiment, according to Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star.

"It's the truth," Colon said. "We got flair, and he don't."

Colon isn't on the Puerto Rican roster at the 2017 World Baseball Classic, but it's obvious where his rooting interests lie.

Kinsler may not be alone in thinking baseball should be played devoid of passion or emotion, saving celebrations for after the games are over, but he's not representative of his entire roster or all American baseball players. Even though he didn't play at the WBC this year, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper has been seen sporting a hat that reads, "Make Baseball Fun Again."

Some fireworks may be on tap as the 2017 WBC championship game takes place Wednesday evening between the United States and Puerto Rico.
