Pujols leaves in 3rd inning vs. Mariners with hamstring cramp

Jerome Miron / USA Today Sports

No sooner had Albert Pujols spotted the Los Angeles Angels a 3-0 lead with a bases-loaded double to left than he felt his left hamstring cramp up.

He came up hobbling and clutching the hamstring as he rounded first base, and by the time he was standing on second, he seemed to know that he wouldn't be able to finish the game. He was promptly removed and replaced by utilityman Tony Campana.

The injury was later confirmed to be a cramp, which may have been heat-related, and does not appear to be serious.

The RBIs were the 95th, 96th and 97th of the season for Pujols.
