Mike Trout on participating in Home Run Derby: 'I don't know yet'

There isn't a Major League Baseball fan that doesn't want to see the consensus No. 1 player in the game showcase his skills at the Home Run Derby.

Mike Trout turned down an offer to participate in the event for the first time last year due to concerns voiced by his manager Mike Scioscia, but he hasn't shot down the possibility of flexing his muscles this July in Cincinnati yet.

"I don't know yet," Trout simply replied when asked by MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez about his interest.

Trout, the 2014 American League MVP and a three-time All-Star, belted a career-high 36 homers last season, and would be a popular choice to be crowned home run king should he ever enlist.

"If I get another chance, and if I said I wanted to do it, Scioscia would be against it, but he would support it," Trout said last July. "I don't think it will mess up my swing."

Detroit Tigers slugger Yoenis Cespedes has won back-to-back derby titles, and Trout could just be the man to dethrone the champ this year.
