VIDEO: Rangers' Odor ruled safe after foot appears to slide off base

With only two hits in the final nine innings of Friday's extra-inning battle against the Texas Rangers, the offensive power of the Toronto Blue Jays failed to come through in the clutch during Game 2 of the American League Division Series.

But one play in the top of the 14th will leave the Blue Jays wondering what could have been, as Rougned Odor was ruled safe at second despite his foot appearing to bounce off of the base.

The play went under review and umpires could not overrule the original call, leaving Odor on base and eventually able to score the winning run off a Hanser Alberto single. It was the fifth run scored in just two games for the 21-year-old second baseman.

The call did not impress Blue Jays players, and the often outspoken Jose Bautista told reporters he wanted an explanation for the call after the game.

"I would like to hear an answer from the replay booth in New York on why they made the decision," the outfielder said. "I know that's not part of the protocol, and it seems pretty convenient that it's not. Will we even get an answer? Will our fans ever get an answer? I don't know.

"Maybe you should ask the people that are in charge?"

Meanwhile, fellow outfielder Kevin Pillar admitted he thought he "saw some daylight" under Odor's foot on the slide before offering a more sarcastic response to how he felt about the replay officials.

"But that's why they make the big bucks over there," Pillar said. "They're the best in the world at their jobs. So, you know, I don't know who's in the booth, but hats of to him, he made a great call."

The Blue Jays will have a chance to avenge the call in Game 3 on Sunday at Globe Life Park.
