Davis returns to Dynamo on 1-day contract to announce retirement
Reuters
The Houston Dynamo announced the club is set to re-sign 10-year veteran winger Brad Davis to a new contract on Thursday that expires 24 hours. The deal was struck in order to allow Davis to officially retire as a member of the Dynamo, after spending the last two seasons with Sporting Kansas City.
The 35-year-old, currently a free agent, will rejoin the team he played for between 2006 and 2015, with whom he currently holds the club record for games played, starts, minutes played, and assists (111).
He also led the Dynamo to two MLS Cups, two Eastern Conference titles, and scored the first goal in BBVA Compass Stadium history. Before joining the Dynamo, Davis played for the San Jose Earthquakes, the Dallas Burn, and NY/NJ MetroStars.
