McGregor's coach pokes fun at rumors of Mayweather fight

Conor McGregor's camp couldn't help but weigh in when rumors of fight negotiations with Floyd Mayweather surfaced Friday.

Shortly after the Internet was set ablaze by a report from British news outlet The Sun, which indicated that the two superstars were closing in on an agreement for a Las Vegas boxing match, McGregor's coach sent out a tweet almost certainly intended to troll fight fans.

McGregor and Mayweather traded words within the media earlier this year, and any tilt between the two would undoubtedly make for a record-breaking event.

But such an agreement ever taking shape still appears highly unlikely.

After being removed from the UFC 200 card after failing to promote his highly anticipated rematch with Nate Diaz, McGregor is expected to fight at either UFC 201 or UFC 202.

Mayweather, meanwhile, has been retired from boxing after moving his career record to 49-0 with a defeat of Andre Berto in September 2015.
