Rudy Gay's recent comments concerning the current state of the Sacramento Kings and his future with the organization have been brought to the attention of general manager and vice president of basketball operations Vlade Divac.

"He has my number,” Divac told James Ham of CSN California. "If I do something, I will call him. Obviously, if I didn't call him, we didn't do anything."

In a recent interview with Sactown Royalty, the 29-year-old forward expressed his frustrations with management and how he hasn't had the type of communication with those in power that he'd like to have. Gay was also unsure whether or not there were plans to move him, and if that were the case, he would hope the team would give him fair warning.

"You don't want to hear things on the internet, on Twitter," he said. "You would like to hear it from out of the horse's mouth. Just be upfront with people, that's all you have to do."

The Kings have brought aboard eight new players this summer through both the NBA draft and free agency, which continues the team's retooling process towards getting back to the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. Gay acknowledged that he's unaware of who exactly is joining the roster, stating that after 10 years in the league, all he really wants is a little consistency.

"I think it's pretty obvious what situation is going on here," Gay said. "At this point in my career, I think I want some kind of consistency and we don't have that here, at all."

Divac can appreciate how Gay is feeling, having gone through the trials and tribulations of being an NBA pro himself. However, in a management role, he would hope Gay would trust that he's capable of doing his job properly and efficiently.

"Look, I was a player, 16-17 years in the league, nobody called me everyday (to) tell me what management is doing," Divac said. "Management was doing their job. If something big happened, they called and told me. Obviously, nothing big happened (so) I'm not going to call anybody."

Gay is under contract for the 2016-17 season at $13.3 million, with a player option of $14.3 million the following year.
