Paul George wasn't going to let the Pacers lose on the inaugural Basketball Day in Indiana.

The All-NBA swingman stepped up when his team needed him most, scoring the 15 clutch points for Indiana at Bankers Life Fieldhouse to lead them past the Portland Trail Blazers, 118-111.

Coming off a five-game road trip, and on the second night of a back-to-back set, the Pacers fell behind early and trailed by as many as 20 points.

Down the stretch, Indiana looked to PG-13, who answered by hitting some big shots.

"I'm supposed to be trusted in these situations," George told Jeremiah Johnson of FOX Sports Indiana postgame. "That's the guy I want to be for this team."

He finished with a season-high 37 points to go along with five rebounds, three dimes, and three steals.

The win brings the Pacers to the .500 mark, and represents their first victory in five tries playing on zero day's rest.
