Report: Kings making Collison, McLemore, Afflalo available for trade

Sending All-Star big man DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans appears to be the first domino to fall in what could be a very busy week for the Sacramento Kings ahead of the Feb. 23 trade deadline.

Guards Darren Collison, Ben McLemore, and Arron Afflalo are being made available for potential trades, according to The Vertical's Chris Mannix.

Moving Boogie signaled a rebuilding period for the franchise, and shipping off key rotation players would further intensify that process as well as improve Sacramento's chances of keeping its 2017 first-round pick which would otherwise go to the Chicago Bulls if it fell out of the top 10.

Kings management will seek draft picks and rookie-scale players over the next few days to acquire assets to aid in the rebuild, per Mannix.

Collison and McLemore (restricted) will both hit free agency this summer, making between $4-5.5 million in the final years of their respective contracts. Afflalo is locked in for one more year at $12.5 million, $1.5 million of which is guaranteed.
