Durant out with hand contusion vs. Nets

USA Today Sports

The Golden State Warriors will be without Kevin Durant on Saturday against the Brooklyn Nets, as he's nursing a bruised left hand, the team announced.

Durant suffered the injury during the first half of Thursday's win over the Los Angeles Clippers, but managed to play 34 minutes and put up 25 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists.

This will be the first game Durant sits out this season. The Warriors have been about eight points per 100 possessions better with him on the floor, but their net rating with him on the bench would still rank as the second-best in the NBA (behind the Spurs).

The Nets, meanwhile have been exactly as bad this season as Golden State has been good (they're 9-48, compared to the 48-9 Warriors), and they've lost 15 straight games. Steph Curry and company should be fine.
