Paul Millsap is looking to get paid this summer.

The Hawks power forward is expected to opt out of his player option at the end of the 2016-17 campaign and become a free agent this summer, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. Millsap has a player option for greater than $21 million for next season, but could potentially land more on the open market should he ink a max deal.

Reports earlier this season indicated that the 32-year-old was intent on declining his player option at season's end.

Millsap reportedly "loves Atlanta" and would prefer to stay, telling reporters earlier this season how fond he is of the ATL.

"Everybody knows where my heart is and where I want to be," Millsap told Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "That would be here."

The Hawks reportedly listened to offers on Millsap back in January before pulling him from the trade market just a week later.

The 6-foot-8 forward is averaging 18.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and a block on 44.3 percent shooting this season.
