Wall to Julio Jones, Gucci Mane, Quavo: I'll score 35-plus 'for the culture'

John Wall did it for the culture.

Late in Friday's Game 6 against the Atlanta Hawks, the Washington Wizards point guard nailed a jumper and talked some smack to some folks in the Philips Arena crowd - namely, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones and rappers Gucci Mane and Quavo.

Wall was asked about that exchange after the contest.

"I told them I was going to get 35 or more and we was going to win. And we did that. For the culture," he explained at the postgame presser.

Indeed, the 26-year-old All-Star delivered on both of those promises, as he finished with a playoff career-high 42 points in the series-clinching 115-99 victory. He put up 19 points in the fourth quarter alone and scored or assisted on Washington's final 22 points.

Wall, who also contributed eight dimes and four steals, wasn't done there. He made sure to wave Jones and Co. goodbye before departing the ATL.

The Wiz will embark on their second-round series Sunday versus the Boston Celtics.
