Ray Allen: 'I'll just watch how the season progresses'

After an offseason full of rumors and potential suitors, Ray Allen has shed some light on his status.

"I'm in great shape. I'll just watch how the season progresses, and if I do feel the desire to continue to play, then I'll decide what situation is viable for me," Allen told the Sun-Sentinel's Dom Amore.

Allen also said that he could have himself ready to play in about a week.

The NBA's all-time 3-point leader, who spent the last two seasons with the Miami Heat, has been linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs over the last number of months, although Doc Rivers eventually ruled out his Clippers.

Allen's 37.5 3-point percentage last season was his lowest mark in four years and fell well short of his career average of 40 percent. But he also shot threes at a nearly 42-percent clip in 2012-13 and remains more than capable of being one of the game's better sharpshooters off the bench.
