Bruce Pearl thinks last-place LSU is 'an amazing story'

Auburn coach Bruce Pearl offered a glowing assessment of LSU on Monday, even though his Tuesday opponent hasn't won a game since Jan. 5 and sits last in the SEC standings.

"It's an amazing story," Pearl said of LSU on Monday, according to Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "They're playing so hard, so well together."

In actuality, LSU has dropped 13 consecutive decisions and has just one conference victory - a win over Missouri - to speak of all year. The Tigers have looked discombobulated for most of the campaign, and dropped their first encounter with Auburn near the beginning of the long skid.

Pearl's complimentary evaluation of Johnny Jones' program comes two days after he lamented his own team's lack of development throughout the season, amid a current three-game losing streak.
