Former first-round draft pick Trent Richardson was arrested Thursday night in Alabama for domestic violence, Hoover police confirmed to Carol Robinson of AL.com.

Police received a call at 8:04 p.m. about a possible domestic disturbance at a Hyatt hotel. Another call came in a minute later. Officers arrived on the scene at 8:08 p.m. and spoke with both Richardson and a woman who had scratches and bruises on her face.

The woman was treated by paramedics, but didn't require any additional medical care, police said.

Officers determined the argument began earlier in the evening at a local Walmart.

Richardson was charged with third-degree domestic violence and his bond has been set at $1,000.

Richardson, 26, was the Cleveland Browns' third overall pick in the 2012 draft. After a promising first season, he was out of the league by 2015. His career ended after two disappointing years with the Indianapolis Colts.
