Other fan bases around the country will have a hard time claiming that Ohio State doesn't have the most die-hard fans in the nation.

In Saturday's spring game scrimmage between OSU Gray and OSU Scarlet, a a national spring-game record 99,391 fans were in attendance at Ohio Stadium.

The crowd was also in for a treat, as quarterback Cardale Jones made his first start in front of the home crowd – and he didn't disappoint.

Jones threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns, completing 19-of-42 passes in a 17-14 victory for OSU Gray.

That said, the quarterback situation is far from decided. Jones still has to compete against injured pivots J.T. Barrett and Braxton Miller, both of whom are Heisman Trophy hopefuls next season.

Either way, Jones seized the moment in front of a crowd eager to see the reigning national champions take the field.
