LSU denies Les Miles has resigned

Troy Taormina / USA TODAY Sports

Rumors swirled Friday that Saturday could very well be Les Miles' final game on the sideline for LSU.

The Tigers' head coach reportedly told the Tiger Gridiron Club on Friday that Saturday's contest against Texas A&M would be his final game with the team, according to Jim Kleinpeter of the Times-Picayune.

"He didn't use those words but he made it clear that Saturday is his last game," one Gridiron club member told Kleinpeter.

Another source reportedly said Miles indicated he wouldn't be at the bowl game and added "thanks for a great 11 years."

That said, there were conflicting reports over Miles' imminent departure.

Schad added Miles is likely to be let go soon and the Tigers are targeting Jimbo Fisher as his replacement.

The final word went to the Tigers themselves, who released a statement following the Twitter storm, saying Miles hasn't resigned.

Contrary to media reports, #LSU coach Les Miles has not resigned nor did he indicate he was resigning when speaking to booster group today.

For now, Miles remains the head coach at LSU, but for how long?
