Top Prospect to Watch in 2017

Murphy is 25-years-old and presumably the catcher of the future in Colorado. He's played just 32 games over the past two seasons at the Major League level but should press starter Tony Wolters more than ever this year. Finding a decent bat in Colorado is usually enough to make anyone fantasy functional, let alone at the catcher's position.

Who Will Drive You Crazy?

Despite a 9.91 K/9 and 3.60 xFIP last season, Gray's numbers come with some serious red flags. Outside of Coors Field, Gray's ERA actually rose from 4.30 to 4.91 and his walks per nine skyrocketed from 1.94 to 4.38. While his punchout potential is tempting, expect a few disastrous blowups in both at home and on the road.

The One to Own

Desmond had a stellar 2016, registering 22 homers, 107 runs, 86 RBI, and 21 steals. The mixture of power and speed is already ideal, and a move to Colorado should only help his power numbers. A career year could be in the cards. The loss of his SS eligibility, however, is unfortunate.

Top Sleeper

Dahl, the 10th overall pick in 2012, delivered on his pedigree in last season's audition, hitting .315 with a .359 OBP. A .404 BABIP and Colorado's park factors obviously had an impact on his offensive stats, but a full-season of at-bats inside Coors Field will only cement his fantasy appeal. Consider him a high-upside OF selection on draft dray.
