Auburn softball player, Florida coach have heated exchange in handshake line

Tempers flared following a softball game between Auburn and Florida on Monday.

While walking past Florida coach Tim Walton in the postgame handshake line, Auburn senior Haley Fagan opted to keep her hands at her sides, leading to a brief shoving match between the two.

Walton later apologized, saying in a statement, "My intent was to give a high-five to each opposing player as we do after every game. Apparently, her hand wasn't up as I said 'good game' and I touched her shoulder. I should have paid close attention and did not intend to upset her."

There's some history between Walton and Fagan, as her two sisters, Kasey and Sami, both played for Florida before being dismissed by Walton prior to a NCAA tournament game in 2012. Their father, Ken, said their release was due to "an altercation on the team."
