Look: How superstitious are sports fans?

Tommy Gilligan / USA TODAY Sports

Plenty of fans partake in game-day rituals, but that doesn't necessarily mean they believe they contribute to their team's success.

A study by Online Casino found that although 68 percent of fans surveyed don't think superstitions work, 67 percent perform them anyway. There are some who take rituals very seriously, though, with 27 percent of respondents stating they believe they've influenced the outcome of at least one game.

Sports gamblers are particularly superstitious, while female fans tend to be more superstitious than males.
