Report: Dolphins agree to trade Albert to Jaguars for pick
The Miami Dolphins have agreed to a trade that will send left tackle Branden Albert to the Jacksonville Jaguars, a league source told Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.
The deal reportedly involves a 2018 seventh-round pick as compensation, but later on Monday, it was reported that Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas will also be moved to Miami for a 2017 draft pick.
No trade can be made official before the new league year opens March 9, so there's still plenty of time for parameters involving Thomas to be added to the agreement.
The top priority for the Jaguars in securing at least one part of the trade will presumably be taking care of Albert's contract situation. And with the team hosting him on a visit Monday, it appears as though those efforts have already begun.
Albert, who started 35 games across three seasons in Miami, would immediately take over as the left tackle on the Jaguars' offensive front.
