Brandon Marshall will be honored by the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Alumni of Color for his stance against social injustice.

The Denver Broncos linebacker is set to receive the 2017 Courage Award during the Alumni of Color's 2017 Conference at the Graduate School of Education in early March, he announced Monday on Twitter.

Marshall was one of the few players to kneel during the national anthem this past season, partly in protest against police brutality in the U.S.

"The 2017 Alumni of Color Conference (AOCC) Courage Award is given to an individual demonstrating outstanding commitment to the principles of justice, equity, and including," the release read. "Selected by the AOCC chairs, this inaugural award reflects the principles of the conference, including depth of character, extraordinary leadership, and engaged activism."

The 27-year-old ended his protests after seven games when the Denver Police announced its intention to revise the department's use-of-force policy

Marshall lost several sponsorship deals because of his protests, but maintained his stance, even pledging to donate $300 per tackle to local charities and organizations.
