Report: Seahawks to host FA Gerald Hodges

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are meeting with free-agent linebacker Gerald Hodges on Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, citing a source.

A fourth-round pick of the Vikings in 2013, Hodges played two-plus seasons in Minnesota before a trade to the San Francisco 49ers early in the 2015 campaign.

After working his way into a starting role for the final four games, he'd go on to hold that spot for the majority of 2016 and responded with the most productive play of his career.

Hodges finished the final season of his rookie contract with 83 tackles, three sacks, and two interceptions while starting 12-of-15 appearances for San Francisco.

If signed in Seattle, the 26-year-old would presumably be in the mix for first-team work alongside a pair of Pro Bowl talents in Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright.
