The ex-girlfriend of former NFL running back Trent Richardson was arrested Monday after being accused of purposely crashing into a car he was in, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com.

Sevina Fatu, who is the mother of Richardson's four children, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of criminal mischief as a result of the incident.

Richardson reportedly explained to police that Fatu has told him, "If I can't have you, no one can."

The incident comes just weeks after Richardson was arrested and charged with third-degree domestic violence.

Richardson denied the allegations previously brought against him in speaking with AL.com, explaining that Fatu had scratches and bruises because he was trying to defend himself and push her away.

"I was trying to walk away from the situation," Richardson said. "I would never hit a female. I look down on people that hit females. I grew up seeing stuff like that in my house. I've had family members go through that, and that's something I would never do. There are certain things I can't get into because it's an ongoing case, but it's very important to me that people know my side of the story and at least know that I would never hit a female no matter what the situation is."

Richardson, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, has been unable to find another roster spot since his stints with the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts across his first three seasons came to early conclusions.
