Former New York Post columnist withdraws lawsuit vs. ex-employer

Bart Hubbuch/Twitter

Former New York Post columnist Bart Hubbuch has withdrawn his lawsuit against the newspaper after he was dismissed in January for a tweet comparing Donald Trump's presidential election victory to Pearl Harbor.

Hubbuch sued the outlet for wrongful discharge shortly after his termination.

The Post filed a motion to dismiss the case, noting that Hubbuch wasn't working when he sent the contentious tweet. After the lawsuit was withdrawn, the Post contended that Hubbuch's lawsuit was frivolous.

Hubbuch and his representation disagree, however.

"The claim was voluntarily withdrawn,” Hubbuch's lawyer Scott Lucas said to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "There has been no acknowledgement that it was frivolous."

Hubbuch began working for the Post in October 2007.
