Redskins' Griffin has no timetable for return, will not be placed on season-ending injured reserve

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Redskins have learned the results of the MRI performed on Robert Griffin III's injured left ankle, but Redskins coach Jay Gruden has offered little clarity regarding the quarterback's status for the rest of this season.

Gruden added that the Redskins will know more "in a few more weeks," and have sent the results of his MRI to a specialist.

If Griffin does indeed require surgery, the young quarterback will likely lose the entire season.
