Vikings' Bridgewater not sure if he'll play Thursday

Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater hopes to play Thursday, but said it's too soon to tell whether he'll be ready to go.

"Each day I’m making progress,” Bridgewater said Tuesday, via Pro Football Talk. "I'm just going to keep moving, move forward and try to get ready for Thursday."

Asked to put a percentage on his chances of playing, Bridgewater replied, "I cannot. We still have a long time until Thursday, so right now I'm going to continue to just rehab, do a little exercise today and see where I am the next couple days."

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer sounded more optimistic about Bridgewater's chances of playing, but said the decision will come down to whether or not he is healthy enough.

"He's out here today in a walk-through. He's fine, really. He's good," Zimmer said. "Just depends on when we feel he’s ready. He won't if we feel he's not ready."

If Bridgewater is unable to play, Christian Ponder will likely get the call.
