Report: NFL to begin surveying Los Angeles market

A decision on the NFL's potential return to Los Angeles appears to be edging closer.

Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times reports that the league will begin surveying potential customers Tuesday to determine how much of a demand there is for a team and what the expectations are for a stadium and amenities.

The study is not site-specific and does not identify relocation candidates, but is worded in such a way that allows people to make their preferences known, according to Farmer.

Similar independent studies have been conducted in the past, but Farmer reports that this is the first time since the late 1990s that the NFL has launched a comprehensive survey on the L.A. market

The league is expected to gather data over the next two weeks and will then organize L.A. focus groups to gather more specific information.
