Calvin Johnson practices, speaks on high ankle sprain: 'We're trying to be smart about it'

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson appears to be making progress in his recovery from a high ankle sprain.

Johnson practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, and was running and catching passes Thursday.

"You want to push it. I want to push it, but we're trying to be smart about it," Johnson told ESPN's Michael Rothstein. "Trying to take advice from the training staff that they are giving me and go with that."

The Lions' superstar has missed the team's past two games.

"Things are going good," he said. "We're moving in a positive direction."

Johnson and the Lions are in London to play the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium.
