The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to terms with defensive tackle Gerald McCoy on a new long-term deal, the team announced Saturday.

According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, who first broke the news, it's a seven-year deal worth $98 million, making McCoy the highest-paid player in the NFL at his position. The deal also includes $51.5 million in guarantees, McCoy's agent, Ben Dogra, told Roy Cummings of the Tampa Bay Tribune.

Those terms are on par with the contract extension defensive end J.J. Watt signed with the Houston Texans in September.

In 56 career games with the Bucs, McCoy has 136 tackles and 20.5 sacks.
