Trial postponed for Panthers' Greg Hardy until after the season

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy will have his trial postponed until after the season, as initially reported by Pro Football Talk

Hardy was convicted of misdemeanor assault stemming from an incident in May, and his jury trial was set for Nov. 17.

The pass rusher was placed on the exempt list after Week 1 and was going to be held out of the lineup until his case was resolved. If his trial has in fact been postponed, there is a good chance Hardy won't play again this season.
