Texans' Clowney not over knee injury, won't play vs. Titans

Ron Chenoy / USA TODAY Sports

Houston Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney's roller-coaster rookie season just hit another unexpected dip.

Clowney won't play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel announced Friday. Crennel said Clowney wants to play but needs time to get his knee right.

Clowney tore his meniscus in Week 1 and underwent arthroscopic surgery to address the injury. The first overall pick missed six games before returning in late October. Since then, he's been on and off the field.
