Vikings face Twitter backlash after using Adrian Peterson to promote 'Family Day'

A photo used by the Minnesota Vikings to promote their "Family Day" event sparked backlash on Twitter over the weekend.

As part of the celebration, the Vikings tweeted a photo of running back Adrian Peterson kissing one of his sons at practice.

Peterson, as you'll recall, spent all but one game on the commissioner's exempt list last season after being indicted on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child for disciplining his 4-year-old son with a switch.

The photo, which was also shared on Facebook, didn't go over well, with many Twitter users criticizing the move:
