"Very pleased with the way I've played today," said Johnson after his second round.

"I felt like I hit the ball really well, I had good looks at birdie on a lot of holes. I didn't make any of my short ones, but I made a few long ones."

The US Open champion is seeking his first win at the Genesis Open, and hasn't made a bogey over the last 24 holes.

"I'm very comfortable on this golf course, I really like it. I think it sets up really good to my eye, I've always enjoyed playing here."

Johnson and fiancée Paulina Gretzky also announced Saturday that they are expecting their second child

"Everything is going really well right now. We're very excited."

With Friday's play washed out due to the heavy rain in the Los Angeles area, officials are trying to get as many holes in Saturday evening, in hopes of finishing the event Sunday.
