The opening round of the Masters has been delayed until 10:30 a.m. ET Thursday as thunderstorms pound the area around Augusta National.

Jake Knapp and Erik van Rooyen were set to be the first group off No. 1 at 8 a.m. ET following the ceremonial tee shots by Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tom Watson.

However, the poor weather hit as forecasted, pushing play to later in the morning. All the players will still go off the first tee, with the last group now starting at 4:30 p.m. ET.

While the weather put a damper on the tournament's start, the rest of the week looks dry and sunny - ideal conditions for the final three rounds.
