Watch: Dzeko completes 2nd-half hat trick in Roma's invasion of Villarreal
Edin Dzeko thrived at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Thursday.
In the first leg of the tie between AS Roma and Villarreal in the Europa League's Round of 32, Dzeko showed more class than anyone else on the pitch, scoring a second-half hat trick to lift the Giallorossi to a 4-0 victory. The goals marked the Bosnian forward's 26th, 27th, and 28th in all competitions in 2016-17.
Dzeko's first goal came in the 65th minute, when he left Mateo Musacchio for dead with two touches before slotting the ball past Sergio Asenjo.
Less than a quarter-hour later, Dzeko scored his second of the night, shaking off Victor Ruiz and blasting home a right-footed effort.
In the 86th minute, Dzeko completed the hat trick, calmly converting a shot with his left foot after once again leaving one of Villarreal's players on the floor.
