WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury won't fight Deontay Wilder for the third time after organizers failed to deliver on a 2020 date.

"I was looking forward to smashing Wilder again. A quick and easy fight," Fury told The Athletic's Mike Coppinger. "But Wilder and his team were messing around with the date. They don't really want to fight the lineal heavyweight champion.

"They know how it ends. The world knows how it will end: with Wilder on his ass again."

The two heavyweights were set for a trilogy bout after Fury defeated Wilder via seventh-round TKO to capture the WBC title in February. Fury and Wilder fought to a draw in December 2018.

Fury said the two boxers were set to clash again in July before the 34-year-old Wilder said he suffered an injury. After pushing the date back to October, Wilder's camp tried to move the date two more times.

"Then they asked me if I would agree to push it to December. I agreed to Dec. 19," Fury said. "Then they tried to change the date again into next year. I've been training. I'm ready. When they tried moving off Dec. 19 and pushing to next year, enough was enough. I've moved on."

Fury is now expected to fight an unnamed opponent in a homecoming bout in the United Kingdom on Dec. 5, sources told Coppinger.
