Woodley: Paul 'scared' to book rematch

Jake Paul said last week he's moved on from a rematch against Tyron Woodley because the former UFC champion didn't follow through on getting a tattoo after losing their August bout.

However, Woodley believes Paul is simply worried about losing the second fight.

"It went from, 'Get the tattoo, and it's a rematch,' to 'Get the tattoo and we'll think about a rematch,' to, 'Oh, he didn't get the tattoo, so there's no rematch.' It sounds like he's just f------ scared to fight," Woodley told MMA Fighting's Steven Marrocco.

Paul defeated Woodley by split decision in a highly anticipated boxing match Aug. 29 in the YouTube star's hometown of Cleveland.

The fighters appeared to make a gentlemen's agreement in the ring after the fight. Woodley said he'd get the tattoo on his body, which would say "I love Jake Paul," if it meant Paul would fight him again.

Since then, Woodley has said he'll only get the tattoo after Paul signs a contract for the second fight, while Paul has said he won't fight Woodley again because Woodley still hasn't gotten the tattoo.

"He knows he squeaked out by the hair on his chinny chin chin; a lot of people thought he lost the fight," Woodley said. "He got saved by the ropes. Man, shit, if I was him, maybe I'd just run off into the wind as well. But if he's sitting there acting like that's not why we're doing the fight, he's a f------ liar."

Paul, 24, is eyeing the likes of UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal, professional boxer Tommy Fury, or MMA legend Anderson Silva as his next opponent.
