Vidal urges compatriot Sanchez to join him at Bayern Munich

Arturo Vidal has invited Alexis Sanchez to join him at "the best team in the world," Bayern Munich.

The Arsenal artilleryman is subject to plenty of transfer speculation due to his contract expiring at the end of next season, and has apparently drawn interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus, and Inter Milan.

He can also add Bayern Munich to that list, following reports earlier this month that it's prepared to lodge a €65-million offer for him, and after Vidal revealed he's discussed his fellow Chilean with the Bavarian outfit's hierarchy.

"Whenever they (Bayern executives) have asked me, I've always said that he is the player that needs to arrive here," he told Sport, with translation from ESPN FC. "He has one year left on his contract. Everyone wants him now because it's easier to pay that money now rather than if he had three years left on his contract."

There are set to be many changes at Bayern this summer following the retirements of Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso, and the ageing attacking threats in Franck Ribery, 34, and 33-year-old Arjen Robben. Carlo Ancelotti's side could need a new star in attack, and Vidal believes Sanchez would fit the bill.

"Of course I would like him to come because he is an extraordinary player," Vidal said.

"He is doing a great job at Arsenal. I think he still needs to take that step forward to fight to be among the best in the world and, in order for that to happen, he has to join the best team in the world."

Sanchez's combined goals and assists in the Premier League over 2016-17 amounted to 34, second only to Harry Kane who totaled 36. He won't be in next season's Champions League with Arsenal, however, after the club finished the domestic campaign in fifth.
