Eintracht suspends on-loan Varela after getting tattoo against club's orders

Blame it on the ink.

Guillermo Varela has been suspended by Eintracht Frankfurt, the right-back being reprimanded for getting a tattoo against the German club's wishes.

The 24-year-old, who is on loan from Manchester United, got the tattoo Monday, and will now miss Saturday's DFB-Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund after his arm became inflamed.

"His behaviour was reckless and hurts the team," sporting executive Fredi Bobic said in a statement. "Guillermo's path at Eintracht ends here. The club can't put up with a player acting against the coach's and doctors' instructions.

"We were already considering extending his loan. But that's naturally no longer an issue. Guillermo will be suspended with immediate effect."

The Uruguayan had made only 10 appearances in all competitions this season with Frankfurt, but looked in contention for Saturday's final after getting on the pitch in the last four league contests for Niko Kovac's side.
