The Winnipeg Blue Bombers took care of business on the road Saturday night, defeating the Edmonton Eskimos 28-19 to reach double digits in the win column for the second consecutive season.

The game got off to a slow start, with both teams completing the first quarter without registering a single point. The Blue Bombers put up a single in the second quarter off a missed field goal by Justin Medlock, adding a 6-yard touchdown pass from Matt Nichols to Clarence Denmark with just 17 seconds left in the half.

The Eskimos responded in the third quarter with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Mike Reilly to Calvin McCarty, but a failed two-point conversion kept the score at 8-6. A touchdown run by Andrew Harris and a touchdown pass to Darvin Adams extended the Bombers' lead, but the Eskimos wouldn't go quietly.

Reilly complemented a pair of field goals with a 21-yard touchdown pass to D. Walker, bringing the score to 21-19. The Eskimos continued to apply pressure, but a pass from Reilly with less than three minutes remaining was picked off by Chris Randle and returned 37 yards for a touchdown, icing the victory.

The Bombers improved to 10-3 with the win, while the Eskimos fell to 7-6. Both teams remain in action next week, as the Bombers welcome the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Oct. 6, while the Eskimos hit the road to play the Montreal Alouettes on Oct. 9.
