Not only did the Winnipeg Blue Bombers lose to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday, but they lost their starting quarterback as well.

The Blue Bombers fell 30-13, though the more pressing concern may be the health of Matt Nichols, who left the game with a hand injury. Nichols appeared to injure the hand while being stripped of the ball by Hamilton defensive back Abdul Kanneh and sat out the second half.

Dominique Davis came on in relief and threw for only 84 yards.

Tiger-Cats quarterback Jeremiah Masoli had a much better day, throwing for 338 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Hamilton is suddenly in the playoff race for the second East Division playoff spot after winning four of its past six games.

Ticats receiver Brandon Banks chipped in with 104 yards and a score.

Winnipeg will host the BC Lions next week, while Hamilton meets the Calgary Stampeders.
