The Winnipeg Blue Bombers' perfect record remains intact after defeating the Calgary Stampeders 35-28 on Saturday.

The Bombers become the fifth team since the CFL's inception in 1958 to begin a season 8-0, according to Sportsnet Stats. The victory also marks Winnipeg's second victory over Calgary this season, following a 26-19 result in Week 6.

The past seven matchups between the two West teams have been decided by one score with an average margin of victory of 3.6 points, according to CFL.ca.

Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros led an impressive passing attack, throwing for 270 yards and four touchdowns with a 73.3% completion rate.

With a receiving corps that is missing both Greg Ellingson and Carlton Agudosi, Collaros leaned on pass-catchers Nic Demski and Dalton Schoen, who each scored two touchdowns.

Running back Brady Oliveira added a season-high 110 rushing yards on 15 carries to contribute to a balanced Bombers' attack.

Calgary regularly moved the ball down the field but didn't find the endzone in the first half. Bo Levi Mitchell kept pace, passing for 219 yards, but he didn't throw a touchdown. Running back Ka'Deem Carey found the end zone twice in the second half to keep the Stamps in the contest.

The Stampeders dropped their first game at McMahon Stadium this season after winning their previous two.

Winnipeg will try to extend its win streak to nine games next week when it squares off against the Montreal Alouettes. Meanwhile, Calgary will attempt to bounce back against the Ottawa Redblacks in Week 9.
