Buffon returns to Juventus on 1-year deal
Gianluigi Buffon has returned to Juventus.
Following a one-season sabbatical at Paris Saint-Germain, the World Cup-winning goaltender has penned a one-year deal with the Scudetto holders.
The 41-year-old Buffon previously spent 17 years with the Old Lady, capturing nine Serie A titles and a quartet of domestic cups. He's now set to claim second-choice duties behind Wojciech Szczesny under incoming manager Maurizio Sarri.
With eight league outings, Buffon would surpass AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini's Serie A record of 647 appearances. Buffon is also six appearances short of matching Alessandro Del Piero's club record for Serie A run-outs (478).
At PSG last season, Buffon made 17 Ligue 1 appearances while sharing first-choice duties with Alphonse Areola. The Tuscan-born 'keeper won 13 of those 17 matches, boasting a save percentage of 73.5.
