Barcelona representatives traveled to Paris on Tuesday to present a third bid for unsettled forward Neymar, sources told ESPN FC's Moises Llorens and Sam Marsden.

Contrary to a report that circulated last week, Ousmane Dembele will not be used as a makeweight in the deal designed to bring Neymar back to Catalonia. Instead, Barcelona are apparently seeking an initial season-long loan for the Brazilian with an option to buy him permanently from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Overall, the potential move could be worth around €170 million to PSG. The French champions paid €222 million to sign him from Barcelona in 2017.

The renewed effort to sign Neymar apparently follows a Monday meeting between Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and members of his board that focused on structuring terms they believe PSG will accept. The French club previously spurned a similar loan proposal and reportedly also rejected an €80-million offer that involved Philippe Coutinho (who has since joined Bayern Munich on temporary terms) and Ivan Rakitic transferring to PSG.

Barcelona may be optimistic about an agreement following the latest round of talks due to PSG's supposed desperation to end the transfer saga before European business closes Sept. 2. However, if the approaches are deemed unsatisfactory by PSG, they are reportedly willing to reintegrate Neymar into the squad in the wake of injuries to Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

Real Madrid and Juventus are reportedly monitoring the situation, but both clubs have yet to table a bid for Neymar.
