Cristiano Ronaldo's longtime agent, Jorge Mendes, has reached out to Manchester City to work out a potential deal for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano reports.

The reigning Premier League champions have no intention of paying any fee for Ronaldo, according to Romano, but Juventus are hoping to recoup around €25 million.

Ronaldo is reportedly exploring his options after spending the last three seasons at Juventus. He still has one year remaining on his contract.

Doubts about his future intensified after news broke Sunday that he would start the Bianconeri's season opener at Udinese on the bench. But club director Pavel Nedved insisted Ronaldo is "absolutely staying" in Turin for the 2021-22 campaign.

"You shouldn't try to create sensationalized stories where there aren't any," Nedved told broadcaster DAZN.

Ronaldo called reports of a potential move to Real Madrid "disrespectful" in an Instagram post last week - without making any direct commitment to Juventus.

Other outlets suggested Paris Saint-Germain could add Ronaldo. However, Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio denied those rumors Tuesday, saying PSG are currently uninterested in signing the 36-year-old, even in the event Kylian Mbappe leaves for Madrid.

Earlier Tuesday, PSG reportedly turned down Madrid's opening €160-million offer for Mbappe.

Ronaldo has scored 101 goals in 134 appearances since joining Juventus in 2018 for a reported €100 million, winning Serie A twice and the Coppa Italia last season.
