AC Milan are on the verge of one last splash in the transfer market.

The Rossoneri are closing in on a loan deal for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Ante Rebic, reports Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sport Italia. The deal will include an obligation to buy for around €25 million, Romano adds.

The Croatian international, 25, was left out of Eintracht's squad for their match against Fortuna Dusseldorf on Sunday, fueling speculation of a departure.

His signing would give Milan manager Marco Giampaolo the additional attacking option he's been searching for all summer. A deal for Atletico Madrid's Angel Correa seemed to be imminent earlier in the window, but Atleti's valuation scuppered that operation, forcing Milan to look elsewhere.

The energetic Rebic, who scored nine Bundesliga goals in 28 appearances last season, would likely slot in as a second striker at the San Siro, playing just off incumbent No. 9 Krzysztof Piatek.
